About this piece

Jack Gurney's schizophrenic stream of consciousness

Summary

Jack Gurney is a paranoid/schizophrenic British nobleman. His father, the Earl of Gurney, dies and Jack Gurney inherits his fortune as well as becoming the new Earl of Gurney even if he has been committed to a mental institution. His main fixation is that he actually thinks he is Jesus Christ... In this monologue Jack Gurney gives us a sample of what's going on in his schizophrenic mind in a psychotic stream of consciousness.
