About this piece

John Wintergreen ponders about his life

Summary

John Wintergreen is a short Arizona motorcycle cop who is promoted to the Homicide Division to investigate the mysterious murder of a hermit. His relationship to fellow officers deteriorates and later on, because of workplace politics, he is demoted to Traffic again. In this scene, after working at a concert, John walks in the deserted stadium, sits next to a floor sweeper who is sitting by himself eating a sandwich, ponders about his life and the murder he was supposed to help solve. After telling him that he should listen to his own voices and that he wants to start all over again, he realizes who may have committed the murder...
