About this piece
Bill's Superman Speech
Summary
Beatrix Kiddo, a.k.a. "The Bride", goes on a vengeance killing rampage against the "Deadly Viper Assassination Squad", and her former lover/boss Bill. The Bride used to be a deadly assassin and part of that squad until she decided to have a baby (Bill's baby) retire and get married. Bill finds her and guns her down together with her soon to be husband in her wedding day. After being in a coma for years, she wakes up and tracks down each assassin one by one until the final confrontation with Bill. In this scene she has just been shot in the leg by Bill with a truth serum. As the serum takes effect, Bills muses over the difference between Superman and other comic book heroes and draws the analogy between Superman trying to be Clark Kent and her, Beatrix Kiddo, the assassin, betraying him and trying to start a new quiet life with a husband and a daughter..
