Summary
In this episode Don Draper and his wife go to a concert and there they meet an executive from a larger ad agency, McCann Erickson, who tries to hire Don. To attract Don to his offer, he also offers Betty a modeling job. We find out Betty actually used to be a model years back and gave that up to raise a family. In this monologue Betty is talking to her psychiatrist. She tells him about the modeling job offer and her past as a model. She tells him she actually met Don at a photo shoot. When the two got engaged, she gave up her career. Finally she tells him how her mother hated the fact that she was a model and considered her to be a "prostitute". As she lights a cigarette she tells him how she misses her mother, how she wanted her to beautiful so that she could find a man but didn't want her to pursue any career. Finally she ponders "but then what? Just sit and..smoke and...let it go till you're in a box?"......
