About this piece
Jack's father begs his son not to reveal he was under the influence of alcohol during an operation
Summary
The survivors of a plane crash are stranded in a mysterious, remote tropical island in the South Pacific. Among the survivors there is Jack, a doctor, Kate, a former prisoner, Charlie, a rock star, Sayid, an Iraqi military man, Locke, a mysterious man who used to be paralyzed before the crash but is miraculously cured after the crash and Claire, a pregnant Australian girl. In every episode we have flashbacks that focus on the backstory of each of the characters in the show. In episode 11, "All the Best Cowboys have Daddy Issues", there is a flashback regarding an operation Jack did with his father (who is also a surgeon). His father was under the influence of alcohol during the operation and the patient died. Jack is very upset and wants to condemn his father. In this scene Jack walks in his father's office. His father hands him a document to sign which says that the patient died because of her injuries and they did everything in their power to save her. Jack doesn't want to sign and they have an argument. His dad begs him to sign it and save his career.
