Summary
In a black neighborhood in New York City a young is shot dead in the cross fire between a NYPD officer and a drug dealer. John Pappas, the mayor of New York, an idealistic and charismatic politician, manages to avoid a race riot. After finding out that the drug dealer was the son of a big mafia boss and that he was supposed to be in jail, Kevin Calhoun, Pappas' Chief of Staff, decides to investigate the case. He finds murder, corruption and a political cover-up. In this monologue John Pappas address the crowd gathered at the funeral of the young boy who was accidentally killed. In a very powerful speech he promises to change things and make the city safe.
