About this piece
Martin Rome negotiates a deal with Rose Givens
Summary
Martin Rome is criminal and is seriously wounded in a shoot-out in which he kills a cop. Detective Candella is investigating a robbery/murder, the Di Grazia case, in which Rome and his girlfriend Teena are suspects. Rome escapes from prison to protect his girlfriend and find the person responsible for the robbery/murder. He locates the jewels and steals them, then finds the female accomplice of the real thief/murderer, Rose Givens, a tall and heavyset masseuse, and confronts her in her apartment. In this scene Martin Rome tells her he knows she is responsible for the murder and negotiates a deal with her. He has the jewels in a locker in the train station and will give them to her in exchange for 5000$ and a way out of the country. She agrees and Martin tells her he'll deliver the jewels the next day, after a night's rest. While she gives him a massage she tries to strangle him to get the locker key from him. He doesn't have it and she lets him sleep. The scene is 1 hour into the movie.
