The Woman persuades the Man to allow her to join the revolution
Summary
The play is set in Russia during the revolution. A Woman stands in front of the window in a modest home. Sounds of hammers and axes are coming from outside as people build barricades. The Man enters the room and the two discuss the fact that the revolution has started. In this monologue the Woman describes how the sounds of axes and hammers make her feel like she is seventeen and that she has fallen in love for the first time. Those sounds represent freedom and she has decided to fight and die for it.
